Julian’s Adoption

Julian’s Adoption

Julian came to Footbridge Foundation as a small puppy with life-threatening injuries.

He had been rescued from a municipal shelter after being attacked by another dog. He arrived with deep cuts, bite wounds, and severe swelling to his head and face. The swelling around his eyes was so severe that he was at risk of losing his vision.

Julian was rushed to a veterinary clinic, where his wounds were cleaned, treated, and stitched. Even after surgery, the pressure around his eyes remained severe. A specialist recommended an intensive treatment plan that required medicated eye drops every three hours, around the clock, for several months.

That level of care required a very special foster.

A veterinary technician at the clinic where Julian was being treated met him during his recovery and quickly became attached. She offered to bring him home and take on the demanding schedule of his treatment, making sure he received his medication around the clock and helping him through every stage of recovery.

Despite everything he had been through, Julian never lost his spirit. He wagged his tail constantly, loved to be held, and remained gentle with every dog he met. Although he ultimately lost vision in one eye, he never let it slow him down.

During his recovery, the veterinary technician’s neighbors met Julian and quickly fell in love with his personality. When he was medically cleared for adoption, they knew he belonged with them.

Today, Julian is in a home that saw past his injuries and focused on the dog he had always been. He is safe, deeply loved, and living the life every puppy deserves.
