Alfalfa’s Adoption
Alfalfa’s Adoption
Alfalfa was injured at a young age and developed a cleft palate He underwent surgery and was seen by a specialist, but he was left with a permanent crooked smile and ongoing challenges. He required an experienced adopter who could feed him special food and gently clean his face and paws daily.
He was friendly, playful, and even appeared on the local TV show Great Day SA. He was also part of our Lonely Hearts Club, which made his adoption fee waived. Even with all of this, it still took a full year for the gray and white tabby to find the right home.
The adopter had recently lost her cat after a long illness and was familiar with providing extra care. She was drawn to Alfalfa’s unique smile and confident personality and applied to adopt him.
Today, Alfalfa is in a home that understands his needs and is committed to his care. He has a safe place to live and someone who chose him knowing exactly what he required. He also has a Footbridge alum sister, Boba, and the two now live together.
His adopter jokes that when he is in trouble, he goes by his full government name, Alfalfa Benito Antonio Cardona. You can follow him and his sister on Instagram @alfalfa_n_bobbie
